MGM Mirage all set to fight the report of Ms. Ho
On Wednesday, an executive from MGM Mirage said that they will be testing the regulatory report from New Jersey in which it was mentioned that Ms. Ho (daughter of Macau’s main person) is not capable enough of being a business partner for their casino in China. Last month MGM Mirage disclosed that New Jersey’ gambling law enforcement advocated that the company has reduced the relationship with Ms. Ho because of her father’s relations with the world of crime.
MGM Grand Macau casino resort is mutually owned by MGM Mirage and Ho. Mr. Nathan who is the president of MGM Mirage’s global gaming development said that they don’t agree with their proposal. He also added that Ms. Ho was and will be great associate in Macau.
While nonbinding, according to the Division of Gaming Enforcement of New Jersey, it could really influence the main casino commission of the state if any hearing is done on the issue. Mr. Nathan was of the view that they would be joining the hearing and would clear al the doubts of the opposition. Ms. Ho was of the view that the response will be provided to MGM Mirage.
If MGM Mirage receives the final verdict then they have to make a choice between leaving Macau market or walking off from their Atlantic City’s investment where it has the possession of fifty percent of Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. In the year 2007, after the hearings in which she said that she used to operate independently, the controllers in Nevada declared Ms. Ho fit to be associated with the casino companies in America.
Mr. Stanley who is the main person behind Macau’s gambling industry controlled the casinos in the city for more than two decades. But in the year 2002 his monopoly was broken when the Portuguese colony made a comeback to China. Though the company of Mr. Stanley has an advantage of thirty percent in local market of gambling but currently Mr. Stanley is facing competition from his daughter Ms. Ho and his son.
In a conference on Wednesday Mr. Stanley appeared to hint to the rumor related to him. He added that SJM being registered on the main stock market has really provided transparency in the field of gaming in Macau. It also assisted in resolving various doubts of the people which they had in their mind related the industry.
