MasterCard and Visa Obstructing Online Poker Money

The locals of America no more feel comfortable to play online poker with the introduction of UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act). The bill was introduced in the year 2006 and it resulted in the withdrawal from the half of the market, which significantly reduced the options for the players of America. UIGEA didn’t aimed at the online gambling act, forbidding it by obstructing financial institutions from moving money to the online gambling websites. Now, two of the major credit card providers Visa and MasterCard have stopped providing their services for online gambling transactions.
Now, Americans who fund their accounts with the help of these credit cards will have to look for some other ways of payments or they will have to stop playing. According to ERG Magazine, these card companies have been incited to take action with the result of a federal case. Mr. Douglas who is a Canadian was arrested for unlawfully overseeing about $348 million worth of transfers from and to the online gambling sites.
There are chances that with the fear of facing the same federal penalty, MasterCard and Visa have decided to stop providing their services. Different types of card payments are given a code having four digits. These codes are recognized by all the card companies and these codes help the banks in order to comprehend the different services they are moving the funds to.
The online gambling companies have to make use of the code 7995 but MasterCard claim that a number of companies are miscoding their expenses to stay away from the blocking. In spite of the assertions made by MasterCard, it does not appear that they are prohibiting online poker relocation that has no concern with miscoding. The customers who are making deposits on PokerStars are reporting that their cards are being turned down regardless of the fact that they had sufficient cash to finance their accounts.
PokerStars in a statement have denied that they are involved in any way in the miscoding. This is one of the major cases which will surely influence the online gambling industry. It is true that most of the online poker players have already gone through different problems regarding the withdrawal and depositing. There are banks which refuse simple transfers which forced the players to make use of the eWallets like MoneyBookers and PayPal.
There are nations where online gambling is not prohibited and most of the players across the world can carry on funding their online poke accounts like they usually do. Poker lovers will be praying that Visa and MasterCard ban is temporary. UIGEA will be officially executed on June 1st, 2010, which will give Congressman Mr. Barney time to make efforts towards setting up an authorized online gambling industry. If new bills are not formed before the time limit, it could become difficult for the American citizens to enjoy online poker.
