Kenneth I. Trujillo gets newly appointed at Gaming Control Board
Edward G. Rendell who is the Governor, appointed Kenneth I. Trujillo (From Philadelphia) to Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Mr. Kenneth joins in place of Sanford Rivers of Pittsburgh who is an original member of the board and lately he has resigned from his post. Mr. Kenneth is 50 years old and he is a member of Trujillo Rodriguez & Richards LLC (a law company). He is an ex City Solicitor of Philadelphia, worked with the team of President-elect in the year 2008, and an ex Assistant U.S. Attorney.
Mr. Kenneth has been actively participating in various private and public projects which comprise of 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia, leadership of various overseas trade missions, and expansion of the new stadiums for Phillies and Eagles professional sports team.
Mr. Edward said that Mr. Kenneth is proficient in the economic field, law, and legislative administration. He has a background which can prove valuable for the Gaming Control Board as it applies stringent measures to check problem gambling. It will also help in generating profits for the benefit of the players. Mr. Kenneth has also worked with review team for Exchange Commission and Securities for Obama transition.
He used to provide legal guidance and as a member of Executive Committee of the Rendell transition. Very shortly after joining the office, Governor Rendell appointed Mr. Kenneth to the board of Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority which manages finances of Philadelphia City. He was then nominated for Delaware River Port Authority in the year 2005 where he served as the member of the finance committee. In the year 1997 Mr. Kenneth served Philadelphia’s Police Corruption Task Force.
The Governor said that he has invited Mr. Kenneth because whatever task he has been given he has successfully completed it. He added that he has full faith on him and said that he is a valuable addition to the board. Mr. Kenneth has also worked as a member of Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation and City of Philadelphia Board of Pension. He is an add-on professor at University of Pennsylvania Law School and an ex member of Board of Trustees of University of Arts. He has played an important role on the board of various civic groups in Philadelphia and across the world.
There are a total of seven members in the Gaming Control Board, out of which three are appointed by the Governor and four are appointed by the lawmaking leaders. Those who are appointed by the Governor do not need any authentication from the Senate.
The Board enjoys the power on more than twelve slot machine casinos. Additionally, there are two more casinos licenses which can be provided as per the Gaming Act. The slots were made legal in the year 2004 by the state and they are currently planning to expand their gaming which will comprise of table games.
