HMRC Agrees to Refund £80 Million to Ladbrokes Online Casino
There is finally some good news for Ladbrokes in the ongoing dispute between Ladbrokes and HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs). At last this dispute has come to an end with an agreement between the online casino and HMRC. Ladbrokes is a famous British based gambling company. As per the settlement, HMRC would make a refund of 80 million pounds or $123 million.
With this refund, it will be covering the company’s losses for the years up to December 2007. Mr. Panmure who is a broker, made a statement when it was affirmed Ladbrokes would be receiving a refund. He also said that the agreement is genuine and it will help in reinforcing both their land and online casinos.
Last week, there is one more announcement made regarding the tax refund agreement. As the real amount of the refund was not disclosed, it was said that Mr. Richard would be the new Chief Executive of Ladbrokes. For many people this news came as a surprise as Mr. Chris was the executive for many years. The declaration of the settlement and change of the CEO has raised the stock price by three percent.
Those people who have invested in the stock market, they have also earned the benefits. Certainly, there are some people who think that it is still time to sell Ladbrokes since it will take some time for the company to start experiencing profits once again. A lot will also depend on the market’s performance.
This year, Ladbrokes came down 28% to 191 million pounds and this happened because of the economic crisis. At the moment there have been more winners in the online casino, which has assisted to increase interest in the stocks along with the casinos.
At the end of the year, it is possible that the revenues of Ladbrokes will witness a positive outcome. Ladbrokes moved their headquarters to Gibraltar instead of paying high Britain taxes. Last year the taxes for all the online casinos which are operated in Britain were raised. Ladbrokes have more than two thousand betting shops and online casinos for their players.
