America Gets New Bill for Regulation of Online Gambling

UIGEA
In America, a new bill has been introduced for the validation and regulation of the online gambling. The bill is mainly for the broad issue of tax reorganization but it also comprises of the requirements of the online gambling. Ironically, the UIGEA which is looking to forbid online gambling was initiated as a part of Safe Ports Act. The bill is called Tax Fairness and Simplification Act of 2010 and it has been introduced by Mr. Ron and Mr. Judd who are senators. The comparisons with Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act and Barney Frank Internet Gambling Regulation can be made.

Mr. Barney introduced the bill in the House of Representatives but the new bill is introduced in the Senate. But both the bill enjoyed the support of bipartisan. Although Mr. Barney is a Democrat, his bill has the support of Mr. Peter who is a republican and others. On the other hand, the new bill has the support from Mr. Ron who is a Democrat and Mr. Judd who is a Republican. Both of the bills contain the same issue i.e. of authorizing online gambling, provide a regulatory structure, and to produce tax profits out of it. Both of the bills look to supersede UIGEA.

The main idea behind Tax Fairness and Simplification Act f 2010 is to decrease the time and money on filling the tax returns. As per the bill, it is projected that around two hundred billion dollars could be saved by following this procedure. The bill also seeks out to decrease and taxes on those American who are earning two hundred thousand dollars or less on yearly basis. It suggests, making up tax revenue losses by taxing casino gambling and online poker.

According to a recent study, it is projected that the government could earn tax profits worth $40 billion over the time period of ten years if anti-Barney bill gets approved. But before anything like this takes place, online gambling needs to be legally recognized and regulated.

The Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative is an association which encourages the liberty of the individuals to gamble online but with safeguards to defend the consumers and ensuring safe financial deals. It also acts as a resource on online gambling legislation. Their representative Mr. Michael praised the efforts made by Senators Mr. Ron and Mr. Judd.

Now, when both the House and Senate have the anti-UIGEA bills, hopefully this matter will witness some progress. The legislators those who are in support of the authorizing online gambling are chasing the time limit of June 1st, 2010 when the guidelines of UIGEA will be executed.
