Tribe wants to state to initiate the negotiation

State has been asked by Mashpee Wampanoag for an initiation in negotiation on compact permitting for $1 billion resort casino. The tribe officials confirmed the reports on Tuesday.

Secretary of Housing and Economic Development, Daniel O’Connell, told that state would not be entering any talks with the tribe unless the approval of the application is done by Department of the Interior.
